When: Saturday, Jan. 5
Where: Appalachian Ski Mtn.
What: Rail Jam Competition
The first event of the SFTC series is coming up tomorrow and the whole ATP crew is stoked to bring riders some innovative features with fresh snow conditions and nice weather (which some will agree is hard to come by on event days!).
The Rail Jam will be held in the Appaljack Terrain Park and will be true Jam format, with each rider category getting a set time to session the setup with as many laps as possible. Judging will be based on style, difficulty of tricks, variety of tricks, landing, and overall impression.
The course setup will consist of one set of features at the top of the Appaljack Terrain Park. Rest assured there will be a huge variety of options for ALL ability levels, featuring several features and combinations that ATP has never setup before.
Divisions are available for both Skiers & Snowboarders in Beginner, Intermediate, Women, and Advanced categories. Tons of great prizes are up for grabs, along with points which are awarded at each SFTC event and tallied to determine overall series winners.
Spectators are encouraged to come out and support the riders, ASM will be issuing free spectator tickets @ the registration booth and Main Office for anyone who wants to stop by and watch the action go down first hand!
Riders can also save $$ by pre-registering for the event. Download the registration form below, and call (800) 322 2373 or drop by the main office before Saturday to save.
Early Registration: $20
Day –of-Event Registration: $25
Price includes entry into Rail Jam, SFTC series T-Shirt, & slopeside hot dogs & Red Bull at the event!
App Terrain Park will kick off the 7th Annual Shred for the Cup Series on Saturday January 5 with the Nordica/Never Summer Rail Jam!
The Shred for the Cup series has become the benchmark Park competition series in the region, with 3 events held throughout the winter that test Skiers & Snowboarders skills in several park disciplines (Rail Jam, Big Air, & Slopestyle). As always, the Series has categories for all skill levels (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanded) of both Skiers & Snowboarders, as well as a dedicated women’s category in both Ski & Board.
With the recent cold temperatures, natural snow, and ample snowmaking in all terrain parks, riders can count on a versatile, fun rail/box setup in either the Appal Jam or Appaljack Terrain Park for the event. Remember that points are given out for placement at each SFTC event, and are tallied throughout the season to determine the overall series winners that receive the coveted cups!
Riders can save money by registering for the entire series, as well as pre-registering before the day of the event. Stop by the ASM Main Office to Pre-Register & Save. A Downloadable Registration form is available HERE. All competitors receive lunch and Shred for the Cup Series T-Shirts in addition to entry into the event.
Registration will be held in the Alpine Ski Shop (Lower level of Lodge) from 9-11:am. A warm up session will be available for competitors from 10:30 – 11:30 with a rider meeting at 11:45. The event is scheduled to begin at 12 Noon.
Free Event Spectator tickets will be available on event day, January 5 at registration & at the main office and are required for slope access to watch the event without ski/snowboard equipment.
