Appalachian Ski Mtn. made snow for the first night of the 2017-18 season Sunday, November 19 into Monday morning. The low for the night was 22.9 degrees and snowmakers worked hard to capitalize on every minute of snowmaking weather. Snowmaking temperatures look to return Wednesday night, and crews will be standing by ready to fire up as soon as temps allow.
Although Sunday was a very productive night of snowmaking , just one single night of snowmaking with a low in the mid 20’s unfortunately did not produce enough snow needed to open as planned this Wednesday.
Appalachian Ski Mtn. will now plan to make additional snow Wednesday night, and hopes to open for the 2017-18 season on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday November 23. An official decision as to the opening of the slopes will be made first thing Thursday morning. If able, the slopes will be open from 9am-5pm Thanksgiving Day.
Remember, to celebrate the start of a great season, App Ski Mtn. offers a FREE ski ticket to the first 100 guests to the Ticket Cashier Window on Opening Day!
