Why Take Lessons?

The joy of skiing really starts when you can turn and ski in control on intermediate terrain. Guidance and coaching from a trained professional instructor makes the goal much easier to accomplish. For the average person, it takes 3 times to be comfortable and in control on the more difficult terrain. Taking a series of 3 lessons will give you a skill for life. Trained instructors accelerate the learning process- you’ll learn faster than if you try to teach yourself or with the assistance of well-meaning friends.

Beginner Group Lessons

Classes are small, grouped by similar ability in a fun, supportive and social atmosphere. Lessons are purchased at the ski school counter on the lower level of the lodge. Ages 6 and up.

Choose a Level that is Right for You:
  • Beginner 1: Those who have never skied/snowboarded before. Become familiar with equipment, learn balance, sliding, getting up and stopping on the easiest terrain.
  • Beginner 2: You have skied/snowboarded before and are not ready for more difficult terrain. Develop confidence and improve control by learning to link turns on easiest terrain, and make the transition to the chairlifts.

1-hour group lesson: $20
Three 1-hour group lessons: $60

Lesson Times: 10:00 am, 11:15 am, 2:00 pm, 6:15 pm and 7:30 pm

Intermediate Workshops

This is where the fun begins! You can ride the chairlift, make some turns and stop but you do not feel confident. Receive personalized attention and individual feedback in a small group setting. Take on new challenges. Try fun drills and exercises that will help you maximize your time on the hill.

Coaches will focus on your personal goals:
  • Fall less & have more fun!
  • Increase your confidence and level of efficiency
  • Eliminate thigh burn
  • Prepare to ski or ride at bigger areas
  • Keep up with your friends or family
  • Common goals for skiers: Wedge to parallel turns, pole use, developing rhythm & turn shape
  • Common goals for snowboarders: Toe & heel turns and getting comfortable with linked turns in control
